NR (nicotinamide riboside) is a precursor to NAD+. NAD+ is a central coenzyme in cellular metabolism, and its levels decline with age. Spermidine is a naturally occurring polyamine whose levels also decrease over the course of life. Research attributes an important role to spermidine in autophagy, the cell’s own recycling process. L-Arginine AKG combines the amino acid L-arginine with alpha-ketoglutarate, an intermediate in the citric acid cycle—the cell’s central energy cycle. Since the body’s alpha-ketoglutarate levels decline with age, L-Arginine AKG is receiving considerable attention in longevity research.
